ØSTERPORT RECORDS — BIO (EN)

SHORT
Østerport Records is a one-person label from Copenhagen. Francisco M. Tortora, aka Toro Blanco, born and raised in Buenos Aires, writes, plays and produces everything on it, with the odd guest. Three acts: Albotoro (pop in Spanish), Santafemme (instrumental electronic) and Rå Ynde (rock in English). Self-taught, making music since 2004.

LONG
Østerport Records is Francisco M. Tortora's label. He was born and raised in Buenos Aires, moved to Barcelona in 2015 and to Copenhagen in 2024, and has been writing and producing music since 2004. Self-taught. No conservatory, no formal training.

For years everything came out under one name, Toro Blanco. Spanish pop, instrumental electronics and English rock shared one profile, and on some platforms it got mixed up with other acts of the same name. Now the music lives under three names, Albotoro, Santafemme and Rå Ynde, and the label holds them together. Toro Blanco is still the thread between them.

Along the way: Chulo Hamlin with Guido Aimar (one album, 2004), the acoustic band Don Niño with Agustín Cavallo, Alec Gordon and Robertino Villamil (the live album Vivo en Absurdo, 2010), the Toro Blanco album co-produced with Pablo Berardi, Nicolás Carou's first EP El dilema del erizo, and projects with Joaquín Plada. In Barcelona he co-founded RoomTo Studios with Óscar García-Bragado and worked with Martin Roma, Strange Frequency, Lemozine, Gayoncé Rose and The Spike Heel Sex Sound, among others. Just before Copenhagen he worked on Payfone's album Lunch.

THE ACTS
Albotoro — pop, sung in Spanish. Acoustic some days, electronic others. Albo = white, toro = bull.
Santafemme — electronic and instrumental. Nobody sings.
Rå Ynde — rock, sung in English, with one foot in the sixties. Rå = raw, ynde = grace.
